Data Recovery Services

SysDev Laboratories provides professional data recovery services to end-customers as a solution against critical data loss. The services can be provided in case of high complexity of data recovery or when data recovery is not possible using our public software solutions. In most cases we do recommend to use our public data recovery software that can handle most data loss situations and can recover lost data in fully automated mode. When doing self-service data recovery, you still have to follow data safety guides and best practices.

In cases of higher complexity, cases that can not be handled by our software or leak of expertise to safely complete data recovery, SysDev Laboratories offers commercial professional logical data recovery services. Logical data recovery means SysDev Laboratories will recover data from readable storage media and recover requested files.

If storage media has physical defects (such as bad clusters on hard drives, electrical circuit issues etc.) - we do not recommend any self-service data recovery (as well as professional service logical data recovery) before you acquire good storage image file from this kind of device. For valuable data this kind of image file can be created by your local data recovery company that has necessary hardware equipment.

When service is available

The service can be be provides in cases of logical data damage, logical data structures damage, complex (RAID) media related issues, hardware or OS failure, incorrect actions of operator etc. In most cases data is not destroyed permanently so recovery still can be possible. In case you have noticed data loss of any kind, it is strongly not recommended to run standard repair utilities (such us chkdsk, fsck etc.) immediately.

Running standard file system or RAID repair utilities, especially in forced and/or repair modes may lead to permanent data loss. In case of severe logical file system structures damage, chkdsk or fsck utilities apply permanent changes and make some files and especially folder structure unrecoverable. Forced RAID rebuild may cause unrecoverable data modifications (especially if RAID was rebuilt with different configuration, drives order or drives count.

Before attempting these operations make sure you have created backup disk image files to undo any permanent changes in case of emergency!

Logical data recovery is possible before any permanent damage is applied to the data you are looking for.

Which cases can be handled

Logical remote data recovery can be performed when storages or storage image files are available for data access on client's side. The data recovery service is applicable for:

rare and complicated file systems (such as Xsan, StorNext, old AIX JFS and so on);
when lost or deleted data recovery requires additional expertise and manual work (such as deleted files recovery from VMware ESX, Citrix Server etc.);
complex storage architecture and logical storage structure damage;
non standard vendor-specific solutions (such as vendor specific digital video processing systems);
other complicated cases.

The services are provided remotely as a complete solution, including all the steps from free data analysis and to final result. No service fee is taken when recovery failed.

To whom the service can be provided

The service currently can be provided to a companies or and individuals located in Ukraine and companies outside of Ukraine. The export regulations laws of Ukraine require signing of service export contract to provide the service to residents of other countries. This contract have to be concluded in written form with customer's signature and company's seal or stamp. This means data recovery export contract can not be signed by an individual.

Individual outside of Ukraine may consider of purchsing Software Extended Support options instead.

The entire process

Upon customer's request, SysDev Laboratories performs free data recovery case evaluation. This includes expertise of data recovery perspectives, rough evaluation of data recovery terms and quality. This also includes consideration of total service scope and fee. You may roughly evaluate pricing for data recovery services.

When service terms and conditions agreed the customer and SysDev Laboratories sign data recovery service contract. The customer have to deliver electronic scanned copy and hard copy of the contract with signature and company's stamp or seal to SysDev Laboratories.

SysDev Laboratories perform necessary operations to isolate recoverable data and reports to the customer the information about recoverable data, recovery quality and recovers portion of data for demonstration purposes.

In case customer is agreed to reported quality of data recovery, the customer shell pay half of agreed service fee as non-refundable transfer and include all the necessary supplementary paperwork.

SysDev Laboratories completes data recovery and the customer shall transfer remaining portion of the service fee. The remaining portion of service fee may be reduced and re-agreed in case data recovery quality is lower than expected.

The most critical recovered data is passed to the customer immediately after it becomes available, even during recovery process.
