The user can pick the source drive from the list, from which the necessary parameters will be retrieved. Following this, the program allows verifying the pool’s constituents. If some of them are not detected automatically, for example, in case of metadata corruption, there is an option to add them manually.
Support for RAID redundancy
The program makes use of redundancy implemented at the level of physical disk chunklets within an HPE 3PAR system. This guarantees that the data will remain intact, even in situations when certain drives fail and can no longer take part in the storage assembly. The redundancy mechanisms specific to the deployed RAID scheme get activated automatically. This applies to volumes built on redundant CPGs, including RAID 1, RAID 5 and RAID 6. Yet, in case of a non-redundant configuration, all drives must be functional.
Direct access to virtual volumes
The information regarding the virtual volumes stored within the SAN is also obtained from the metadata and is utilized to interpret their address space and represent the available file systems. Thereby, the user can choose any volume from the list and immediately check out its content. Thanks to this feature, significantly less time is needed to prepare for actual data recovery, whereas the risk of errors that may occur during manual operations is kept to a minimum.
Effortless volume content preview
The plugin comes with an integrated tool for previewing the file systems of chosen volumes. It allows users to explore the content of virtual volumes, assess the data relevance and condition, and make an informed decision regarding subsequent data recovery steps. Notably, this functionality can be accessed without license activation, thus, it is possible to test the plugin and confirm its suitability for the task without making any commitments.
Smooth data recovery from HPE 3PAR storage
The selected virtual volumes are promptly mounted within the program's interface. After that, users can navigate them and perform any other manipulations as they would on any traditional storage device. With the aid of a comprehensive toolkit incorporated into the program, the desired data can be restored with minimal effort.
