Data recovery from NAS without the need for disk removal

Network Storage Recovery for Buffalo NAS allows you to restore lost files from a bootable NAS device without having to disassemble it and connect the drives to a PC, making data recovery possible in cases when NAS disk removal is impossible or undesired.

Data recovery from RAID-based NAS

Designed with specificities of Buffalo NAS in mind, the utility allows working with RAID of different configurations created with mdadm, including standard RAID levels – RAID0, RAID1, RAID5, RAID6, nested RAID levels – RAID10, as well as non-RAID drive architectures (SPAN).

Option of manual RAID assembly

The software automatically detects available RAID configurations, however, in cases when RAID metadata has been lost or corrupted, the user can define an array manually by specifying its level, stripe size, etc. and build it in a virtual mode.

Support of encrypted storages

Network Storage Recovery for Buffalo NAS is enhanced with special decryption techniques which make it capable of handling encrypted disks and disk storage systems. The software automatically detects encrypted storages and allows recovering data from them provided that the encryption key is available.

Two types of scanning

Network Storage Recovery for Buffalo NAS offers two types of search for lost files and folders: a quick scan of a special dedicated area which can be applied after minor file system damage and a long one for severely damaged file systems. The search results can be also improved by enabling the raw recovery option, which allows finding files by known content.

warning
NOTE: data recovery over LAN is impossible for such Buffalo models:
LinkStation: HD-HLAN, HS-DGL, LS-GL, LS-DHGL, LS-HGL
TeraStation: HS-HTGL, TS-TGL

WE RECOMMEND using Recovery Explorer or UFS Explorer for data recovery from these devices.
